Cats are all individuals but the males do tend to be butt crevasses where as the females tend to be nicer and more affectionate. My male cat is actually very affectionate but he is also an butt crevasse. My females range from hold me and love me to I love you and you must pet me when I say but don't pick me up.
I grew up with dogs and didn't get cats at all. But I ended up with a couple strays 5 years ago and I finally got them. I respect cats because they make you earn their love and respect. Dogs just love anyone who gives them food or attention.
