I was speaking of a groups appearance, that Nazi smere you have added here is focused on a lone individual's appearance.
One cannot view one lone individual and say with any degree of accuracy of what ethnic tribe they are from, however when viewing a group of individuals who are maneuvering together as a military unit one can use their average characteristics to identify the entire group by their race or ethnicity.
In our society we do this all the time. We have armies who fight other armies and the very important endeavour to identify the enemy before shooting them is just that. We identify them by the look of them.
To put this another way I'm a Jew who can pass as a white man, one cannot look at me and tell that I'm a Jew.
However if I were standing amoung a group of my Jewish fellows the whole group of us could be accurately identified as being Jewish by our overall appearance.
