Saints fired Dennis Allen

You’re clearly a big fan of Mickey Loomis which is fair enough, but if we’re using decisions made almost 2 decades ago to defend him then I think that says it all.

I not a fan of GMs. But I do think he deserves credit for what he managed to put together for 15 years or so. It was the golden age of Saints football and I thank him for being a big part of that. And he didn't just do it two decades ago. He was running a championship contention franchise right up to the day his franchise QB retired. Many GMs have struggled to make that transition. Some eventually get it right and some don't. And I'm not sure 4 years and one failed coaching hire is enough time to know that.

But, it may be time to move on, and he certainly needs to either get a HC that is good at evaluating talent or move on from Ireland, but I don't think it's crazy to think that he can hire a great HC that can turn things around. He's done it once and maybe he can do it again despite his failure in hiring DA.

That being said, if it turns out that he resisted Gayle Benson firing DA then he should go now too.
