For all you people celebrating, this team is no better without DA then it was with DA. So enjoy your moment while the Falcons destroy the Saints this Sunday.
I'm under NO ILLUSIONS that this team will suddenly come together and play inspired ball, or possibly even squeak into the playoffs. I have every expectation that the team will no longer be "mailing in" their uninspired performances. Shots were fired over the bow and a message was sent. With a few exceptions, this team (maybe the entire franchise?) had gotten too comfortable and complacent. The message is that THIS REGIME IS OVER, and you're now playing for a spot on the next HC's roster. With DAs dismissal mid-season, it sends a message that NO ONE should be comfortable any more.
We're gonna see players' best efforts now. Maybe still won't be good enough, but those are the pieces that will reveal themselves over the last 1/2 of the season. The bleeding has stopped, and there is now HOPE for the future. Maybe not THIS season, and maybe not even next season; but SOON. I can live with that. I can root for a team who's giving it their ALL, regardless of W-L. That's an IMPROVEMENT, in my opinion.
