Darren Rizzi’s presser: “I’m an accountability guy. We’ve been doing things the same way here for a long time. Change is needed.”
I liked what I heard and how I heard it.
I remember watching Sean’s first conference and thinking the same thing. If you pretend that you knew nothing about Rizzi, including his coaching history with us, how would you like what you heard from him today? He sounded like someone that I would be good with giving a shot. A lot of the time, the fan’s perception about a new head coach hire is premised on what little they know of their past. If we are honest, most people will admit, even thought they liked what they heard during Sean’s first presser, they were still like “he is unknown, he doesn’t have the experience, ect.”
At the end of the day, including Sean Payton, no one really knows how a coach will translate to the head coach role. He has an opportunity to make it his own and show why he should get a long term opportunity, same as every other head coach.
I’m rooting for him. With that said, the bar is so low, all I need to see is an energetic sideline and I will be ecstatic. Lol
