The next head coach is inheriting a mess

I mostly agree with you, but on this point, I’m not ignoring that there are ways the team can potentially make the opening a lot more attractive in overcoming the circumstances a new coach will be inheriting. Patience and money. Both of which aren’t often well received by fans.

In the abstract, it’s easy for us to point to patience and money. Patience takes on a whole new meaning two years into subpar football, which we know all too well. But given everything working against the next coach, 2-3 poor-average seasons might be inevitable.
As long as it is stated in the beginning, I'm fine with that. 2-3 years to get out of the cap hole and rebuild the talent.
