I concur. Allar's measurements and potential are definitely upper echolon, but he's nothing special (yet), IMO. He beats the teams he's supposed to beat, and loses to the teams that are "better than PSU". I can't remember a single time where I've seen him put PSU on his back and lead the charge to victory. And I think that's an important quality in a 1st round QB, let alone a "franchise" QB.

Like I've said earlier, I'm a HUGE PSU fan and I like Allar. But I wouldn't take him early. As others have stated, he's young and could use another season of development at the NCAA level, so I hope he does that for his own good. And the freshman Grunkenmeyer is supposedly pushing him behind the scenes, and is even "further in his development than Allar was at the same point". But that could just be a recruiting pitch for blue chip players. If Allar stays, and further develops, but still doesn't elevate his team around him, or carry them on his back when needed, I still wouldn't take him in 2026 either. All the physical traits and tools, but still hasn't demonstrated the intangibles, IMO. At least not yet...
