Only 2 players left from 2016/2017 draft classes

It is not only about the players you draft. It is about timing.

You should be drafting players that will develop in order to replace veterans that should leave for higher salaries at the free agency market.

That is what good teams do, they don't fill holes. They are prepared when time comes .

Using players on their first contract is the best way to keep a healthy cap. We instead decide to extend contracts of players that will not be worth their current investment on them.

You should also be selective when time comes to jump on the draft, and do it as an exception. Draft capital gives you options to move around depending on your needs.

I really hope that the Lattimore trade is the last decision Loomis makes as a General Manager.
