The draft room should start with the careful evaluation of the quality of each position’s prospects. Are the edge rushers really good prospects? If not look elsewhere. Maybe the wide receivers are really good.
There’s actually an advantage when the roster is this poor. You can choose BPA over and over and improve your team. Even if you wind up with three linebackers in the draft, for a ridiculous example, now you have depth and/or trade capital. I hope something like that doesn’t happen, but this business of drafting for need leads to reaches like Davenport and Turner.
