It's week 10 and we're now past the halfway mark of the season. No team has been mathematically eliminated as of yet. Several including our Saints are on the brink of it. Currently the league has 9 teams with 2 wins on their records. That's 28% of the teams in the league. There will be some separation at the bottom after this week as some of the 9 teams will win and some will lose. Most won't win many more games this season. On the upper end there are only 14 teams with a winning record at this point, 7 in the AFC and 7 in the NFC. And while that looks like the parity the NFL wants; I doubt the league likes the idea of so many teams already having records so poor that their fan bases have already given up on their seasons. What's a little more interesting is that the NFC is a little more competitive so far this season than the AFC. The #11 AFC seeded Titans have a 2-6 record and the #11 NFC seeded Bucs have a 4-5 record.
Which Teams Do You Prefer To Win This Week?
Thursday Night Football
CIN (4-5) @ BAL (5-3) - An AFC North matchup between two of the top teams in the division. A win by the Bengals would vault them into the conversation of the playoff seeding and also put them into contention for the division. A loss would just about eliminate their hopes to win the division but wouldn't totally ruin their chances to make the playoffs. A wind by the Ravens would temporarily have them leapfrog the Steelers and move into 1st place in the division. I am an LSU homer and without any apologies I'm all for the Bengals in this one and would love to see Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase light it up tonight. Of course, I'd also like to see a close game between the two to hold my interest.
Any Thoughts?
