C Erik McCoy returned to practice 11/7/24; McCoy designated for return from IR

and we were hoping he'd rise to the challenge. More defenders in the box means fewer in throwing lanes if you can sort through the traffic, though I wondered why we didn't call a lot of plays that allowed for some easy pitch and catch to get him in a rhythm. I also woudl have liked to see us dial up more shot plays, just to back them off. We seemed like we didn't want to try to go down the field OR perhaps he didn't try, because it's notable that within 15 plays of coming in for Rattler, Haener took a shot down field, and though it was incomplete I was happy to at least see it attempted.
Haener is definitely more decisive at this point, and I'd even make the controversial take that his timing is better than Carr's. He just doesn't have the arm that Carr does, which helps to clear out the box.

In what might be Olave's last play of the season, Carr stared him down the whole way, giving Olave pretty much no chance against the single high safety. The high throw just made the situation even worse.
