The problem here is that fans want what they consider to be a 'proven' commodity. They want to believe that the new head man already knows all the nuances of the job and will understand how best to fix the problems that exist and can even improve on what may be working. But this doesn't always happen. But Rizzi is the unknown. The unknown is scary because getting a new head coach is also a time commitment. Time wasted on a new regime that doesn't get results just sets you back at least 3 years from getting to start the process all over again.
