Ian Rapoport: Saints Not Planning to Rebuild

People need to understand, Mickey Loomis is a very competitive person. His demeanor may not say that, but he is. Any type of full scale rebuild would be the antithesis of that.

I will continue to believe that, Allen wasn’t able to maximize this roster but consecutive blow out wins don’t happen when you have a bad roster either.

While aging it’s a competitive roster w/ depth issues that can be solved realistically w/ a 7-8 man draft class and some bargain bin FA’s

Oh and fewer injuries
This roster is not as good as Mickey and some Saints fan make it out to be. We have 2 starting LB's on the team and Davis is on the decline. We have ZERO starting DT's on this team. We have a questionable starting RT, a rookie starting LT (that may be a gaurd), no LG and a subpar RG we overpaid. There isn't a true starting WR on the team. Olave is best served as a second threat, if he can actually even come back after 4 concussions. Shaheed has talent but he's injured right now and on a short contract. Granderson is the only starting level player we have on the D-line and while he's good he's not a dominate player week in and week out. Our best safety is old and will start to decline and we have a combo of Harris and Howard on the other side. We have two depth TE's in Johnson and Moreau. Oh and our 15th ranked QB in his best season 6 years ago. Kamara and Taysom are dogs but one is about to be 35 and the other is approaching RB purgatory at age 30. Even if Kamara has 3 more years in him, he's your only viable treat on offense. Yeah, super talented.
