Yeah ok it’s one game but we need to re-sign Chase Young and Payton Turner

I don't think he has to win out. He just needs to get really good results, win the locker room, coach up the team and build a positive culture.
I don't think he needs to win out either. I'm REALLY liking Rizzi's energy....reminding me of CSP...but not ready to remove the "Interim" tag either. He's got an 8-game audition, which is a LOT more than the Saints will get in order to evaluate any other candidate(s). If Rizz goes 4-4, that will be a marked improvement from the 2-7 stench from the first 9 games. But DA went 7-10 and 9-8....so Rizz going 4-4 looks too much like DA results, IMO. If Rizz can go 5-3 or better, and the team continues to show the grit we saw yesterday, I'm fine giving him a 3-4 year contract to coach the Saints. Big IF...

Rizz won't be one of the "hot" candidates this coaching cycle, but those coaches are going to have their pick of options; and I don't see the Saints job as being attractive enough to land one of those "hot" candidates. And landing one of those candidates is no guarantee of HC success....perhaps even a redux of the DA situation; where a good to great coordinator doesn't necessarily make a great HC. I think we can avoid that 50/50 scenario if Rizz can go 5-3 or better with the roster we currently have. And if he can hit that benchmark, or exceed it, I think it's because he'll have demonstrated that "it" factor in a HC. Right now, it sure looks like it...but the combination of circumstances COULD be conspiring to conjure up immediate results. Is that just a "rush" in the moment? Or is it sustainable? 5-3 or better is the deciding benchmark, IMO.
