Beating the Falcons proved what many thought

I didn't want to be debby downer poo poo parader.... but it's been 2 days... the honey moon period has to be worn off by now....

Last week vs the Panthers we lost because the Refs took over the game and screwed us over...
This game vs the Falcons the refs kept their flags to themselves mostly, and Koo missed 3(2) field goals.. and the Falcons ended up out Saintsing the Saints with drive killing Penalties.

while I want to believe Rizzi made a "huge" difference... its really hard to see it yet. Once Atlanta locked down MVS the offense went to sleep. The defense played pretty usual when they aren't playing 3 games in 10 days. They did make a play at the end of the game so "maybe that's the Rizzi difference" just hard to tell.... Bottom line really calm your tits... the schedule looks relatively easy the rest of the way so we will win a few with a healthier roster... Just sayin.. them chickens aint hatched yet.

I'm not sold on Rizzi at this point and my general preference is a totally fresh start with a new head coach and new staff. I think the team got the new head coach bounce this week so they played with emotion during this game which they really lacked under DA. That being said, I think Rizzi did as good a job as you can expect from a interim HC and I think it's likely some of the reason that ATL made the mistakes at the end and we didn't likely has to do with a change in attention to details and how they practice. I also think he changed how the DL attacks teams which had a part in shutting down the Falcons last drive instead of giving up the game winning TD.

That being said, I need to see if Rizzi can sustain the players passion and if he can get them to continue the attention to detail. And I'm going to need to see him win at least 5 more games before I'd be sold on him as the next HC.

But, I do think this game shows that we have enough talent, even with all the WR and CB injuries, to compete in the NFC South and that it was a Head Coach who could not get the team motivated and paying attention to details that turned this team from a 9 or 10 win team to a 4 or 5 win team.
