One of the biggest flaws I see on the Offensive side of the ball

Can anyone explain our lack of slants in this scheme?
My best guess is that they don't feel they have the contested catch guys to get it done, that or they haven't trusted the interior of the line to keep those passing lanes clean. We also run a lot of condensed formations in the new offense, which makes it difficult to create the spacing for those 1v1 slants.

Last year, Carr threw 35 slants, good for 10th most in the league. Out of those, 14 went to Michael Thomas (despite Thomas only playing half the games). Thomas ran 24 slant routes last year, and he was targeted 58% of the time when he ran one.

This year, the Saints have only thrown 7 slants, with no player running more than 7 slant routes all season.
