How Conflicted Are You In Winning or Getting a Better Draft Pick

Hoping your team will lose just seems weird to me, despite the obvious draft advantage it MIGHT provide. When you have a constantly trading up GM, it seems really counterproductive to put your trust in the draft.

As far as the incoming head coach is concerned, wouldn’t that person prefer a team that finishes strong? That’s an example of hope, grit, and potential.

The quality of the draft depends upon how talented the draft class is, and what positions the most talented players happen to be in. For instance, if the 2025 quarterbacks aren’t that great, why on earth would you want to draft one early? That kind of move is called a reach, Marcus Davenport as my “favorite” example of reaching due to need.

Don’t give up; don’t trade up.
