Pat Kirwan thinks Aaron Glenn will be next Saints head coach
I don't care if the new coach is an offensive or defensive genius. I just want a good leader.
Nobody thinks Dan Campbell is an offensive genius. When Mike Tomlin (who came from a cover 2 system) was hired, his first decision was to keep the defensive structure and system of the steelers. John Harbaugh was mainly a special teams coach before being hired.
We need someone who can identify good coaches to handle offense, defence and special teams. He should build a structure where he is forming coaches, as chances are our better assistant coaches will leave from promotions elsewhere. This coach should also identify when it is needed to change pace if things are not going accordingly.
As I wrote, any new coach will need to have a two year period to stabilize roster and cap, and be competitive by year 3 or 4.
Problem is, we don't know if we are going to chance pace at the administrative side. If we are going to continue doing the same, hiring based on the same criteria, attacking the draft with the same attitude, and managing the cap as it has been.
In short notice, my biggest concern is Loomis making once again, the same decisions.
