That's on the coaches. We have a QB who throws a great deep pass and one that struggles on deep passes... and the coaches decided to have the one who struggles throw that pass.
I think he’s capable of making competent deep throws every now and then; my only complaint about the play is that they asked him to do it after a spell of heavy usage, including a long kick return on the previous play.
He’s a guy that needs to be at least somewhat fresh to confidently ask him to complete a pass like that. His fatigue level wasn’t optimal for that moment.
