The late actor Betty White will be honored with a US postage stamp bearing her likeness starting in 2025, according to officials.
The US Postal Service (USPS) announced on Friday that it would be releasing a postal stamp featuring a digital illustration of White.
White, best known for roles in sitcoms The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls, died in 2021 at the age of 99. Over her career, which spanned more than eight decades, she received eight Emmys, one Grammy, and three Screen Actors Guild awards.
The stamp features a digitally created portrait of White based on a 2010 photograph of her taken by Kwaku Alston. The image shows White smiling in front of a violet background adorned with lighter, bubbly spots, which the Postal Service said “befit her sparkling personality”.
In its announcement, the USPS said the stamp – which will be sold on a pane of 20 – exudes White’s “spritely sense of fun”…….
