Does Letting DA Go Make THIS Much Difference Or Was It Also a Function of

IMHO as happy as we may be with two wins and no DA, neither Rizzi nor Mickey Loomis should be anointed for a permanent stay going forward after this season.

The ultimate goal should not to be slightly better than the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Bucs. It should be to get back to winning the Super Bowl. And that requires that a team, in addition to having the start align, hires the best available GM and head coach from the overall pool of candidates league wide. The odds that the best GM and head coach were already in the building on a 2-7 team seem remote. Hiring only people you are friends with or already work with is a mistake if you want to win a championship.
Agree with most everything you said, except the Rizzi part of the first sentence. ML has failed miserably since CSP left, IMO, and needs to go. But Rizzi is still taking the test. I'm not expecting Rizzi to run the table at 8-0 and enter the playoffs, but IF he did, you gotta give the guy the job. I like what I've seen from him, and the team so far, but it's only 2 games. Let's see how he does for the rest of the exam. If he figures out how to elevate this team and go 6-2 or better, you can't let him out of the building, and I think he'll have officially earned the spot. I'm not ready to give it to him, but I haven't written him off as "Interim" only. JMO...
