Lattimore traded at the right time? (ruled Out for 4 consecutive weeks since trade) [Lattimore will make Commanders debut against the Saints]

Lattimore has now missed 22 games from 2022-present.

Well on the other hand, he has played in 24 games from 2022-present. He played at a high level in the games he did play in during that stretch.

However, paying a player for a full season and getting only a half a season games played for any player isn't a good deal for the team.

Availability >Ability.

He's a shutdown corner when healthy but the past 3 seasons he has barely been able to stay on the field half the time.

This trend for him may pass, and it may not. Since it has been three years in a row logic would suggest not to count on him breaking the pattern. Time will tell.

As far as who won the trade the jury will be out on that for a while yet. His future play and what the Saints get with the picks acquired may take years to say for sure.

Lattimore missing the first 3 games as a Commander won't define the deal long term, but you can bet there's plenty of short-sighted fans in DC that are wondering about it already. If he's able to return and play to 100% of his ability down the stretch this season and into the playoffs those fans will have a quick change of mind.

I agree with most here that he's been the best corner to wear a Saints uniform considering his play over the 97 games over 7 and half years he suited up.

I wish him the best of luck in his future. His chapter as a Saint is now over. As a Saints fan I'm most concerned with what the Saints current and future players do.
