Brian Flores Is the only Defensive HC that should be considered by the Saints. The Vikings are not going to keep him past this yr.

Hard pass on Flores, and for a couple of reasons:
1.) he didn’t do good his last/only time out as an HC. It wasn’t a bonafide disaster, but 3 years no playoffs and a ton of internal strife. Flores, like DA is a great defensive mind but being a HC (as we saw with DA) takes different traits than just being a tactician. DA struggled to motivate and hold everyone accountable, Flores is able to motivate but overdoes the accountability part of the equation. He struggled to get along with his players, assistant coaches, ownership and tried to make a failed power play on his GM. He wasn’t on board with drafting Tua and practically set out to prove he was right by setting Tua up to fail. We don’t need the disfunction he would bring. Most of all we already tried a failed re-tread coach so no thanks on that.
2.) we are gonna be in the QB market for the next few drafts it is of paramount importance we line up the right coaches to support and grow whatever young QB we end up with. Flores drove out his OC every year he was on the job and I believe one year he fired 2 of them. We can’t afford the instability because as you can see with Bryce Young and now with Caleb Williams if you keep having to change out offensive staff you restrict the ability of your young QB to grown and learn.

The solution to this is to find a bright, young up and comming offensive assistant coach. This coach can be paired with whoever we draft and they can grow and learn together. Most importantly in a set up like that if we find success we don’t have to worry about getting our OC stolen away should we find successes with our young QB.
