Saints at the top of Davante Adams’ wish list [Raiders trade Adams to Jets for conditional 3rd ; Jets paying Adams’ entire remaining salary]

Agree with that. I don’t think it would be a cheap deal, but if we continue to show some promise with a healthy OL, I’d be cool with pushing some cap $ down the road to bring him in.

Reality is that the WR room is looking pretty sparse, especially if Olave can’t come back.

It is a bit sparse if Olave doesn't come back, but I'm cautiously optimistic that he will come back and that he will work on bulking up, getting his neck stronger, and wear better head protection in the future to cut down on the concussion issue. I mean, if Tua can come back, Olave can come back and there was some consideration that he could come back this year. But, I do hope he sits out the rest of the year to give his brain time to heal and work on the things he needs to work on.

Still, if he does come back I can't see him being here for more than 2 years with the Saints accepting his 5th year option and either trading him in his last year or letting him walk after the option year. That is unless he gets his concussion issues under control in which case they might sign him to a reasonably big deal. So I think you pay MVS a reasonable deal and rely on Olave, Shaheed, and Means next year along with a young WR or two from the draft. And frankly, the Cleveland game shows that even without much of anything at WR this offense can work as long as you get the running game going.

Regardless, we need to bring in young WR talent to be ready to replace Olave in a year or two. And the draft is the way to do that. FA WR money has gotten out of hand so you need to draft WRs in the draft or you kill your cap signing WRs.
