I just don’t agree with your point of view that someone being a special teams coach at this level means they don’t know football in general. You talk about special teams coaches like they’re complete imbeciles that don’t know ball nor are capable of learning.
Besides, like Harbaugh, you go with this model for the purposes of leadership, a “Leader of Men” model, and he leans on his coordinators to run the offense and defense.
Most ST coaches are the firey in your face type of coaches and they are easy to like. I by no means think ST coaches are imbeciles. I prefer the next HC have more experience coaching offense or defense @ a high level which Rizzi has none.
Once again Harbaugh is an anomaly, a one of a kind. I'm all well and good with the " Leader of Men" type HC, in fact I think it's a must. But I'd prefer that he be that AND have experience coaching offense or defense at a high level.
Rizzi's fate will be determined in the 8 games he's HC. There is almost always a natural bump when a HC is fired for losing the locker room like DA was. If he goes 6-2 in those 8 games then he deserves serious consideration. For me, the biggest draw about Rizzi is that he will more than likely keep Kubiak. The players we have are built to run his offense, especially the OL and AK and Miller are perfect RBs for it as well. The whole offensive staff is one of the best in the league. Woods, I'm not sold on yet
