Comic Book Talk

Here are a few of the standouts I pulled from this box.

4 more boxes after this (2 are apparently larger boxes). Based on his buying patterns I'm certain I'm gonna find a Hulk #181 in one of these boxes. Don't know what condition it will be in. He didn't take care of these. They weren't in sleeves and the bottom of the box was all gritty with mouse turds in it. If he had taken care of these, I'll bet he could have retired on them. But I guess if he took care of them, he'd have sold them by now and taken better care of himself and I wouldn't be looking through them today. So, yay?
Some of those look in decent condition. My very first comic book was Wonder Woman #1 given to me by my uncle when I was a kid. It is tattered as fork, but it is graded, secured in safe deposit box, with my granddaughter already plotting to take out her baby brother if he were to ever get close to it. Even if some of those titles fetch you $50 a pop (looking at that Namor #1 and Iron Man #1), they add up.

However, if there's one thing I will advise above all else if you plan on keeping everything.

GET forkING COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE!!!

That was a life-saver for the stuff I lost in Katrina.

(Also, if somehow there are any Batmans in there, holler at your boy...)
