The one thing I hate about the Rams game already...

Yeah. League did them a huge favor there. Not really fair to be honest. Most teams get to benefit from the “west coast team traveling east to play at noon” thing.

Literally no reason exists for this to be a 3:00 slot game other than the league doing the Rams a favor while putting the screws to us. It’s not like this is some prime matchup or ever was. West coast teams traveling east to play in ho-hum games usually just have to take their medicine and play in the early slot, but not here.

For those that downvoted this post, here are a few factoids I just uncovered with about 10 minutes worth of research…

This will be the first game on the 2024 schedule in which a west coast team has traveled to the central or eastern time zone and the game has been put into the late afternoon slot.

In fact, the only other time this will occur in 2024 will be in week 16 when the 49ers travel to Miami, though the argument could be made that this would have been done for TV entertainment purposes, with what was expected to be two of the better teams in the league facing off for a possible Super Bowl preview, which clearly wouldn’t have been the case with our game.

This phenomenon only occurred once in all of 2023, in week 13 when the 49ers traveled to Philadelphia to play in what was a rematch of the 2022 NFC Championship Game, another obvious TV entertainment purpose move.

So I stand by my post…this is a low key, subtle, largely unnoticed screw job from the NFL. This just does not happen for games of this caliber.
