Is All Hope Lost?

Hope.

We hear this word a lot and all of us feel it every Sunday when the Saints play. Us early Saints fans, hell, hope was all we had! Then Brees and Payton gave us hope and a winning team. Now, well, the Saints are bad again.

But with that, are the Saints hopeless?

I ask that because I see teams like the Steelers, Ravens, Packers, Eagles that are always in the mix, every year. They have hope and are proven winners. Yes, the Saints had 15 amazing years with Brees and Payton and they gave us hope that the Saints could win every game they played. For the past three years, that is not there. Carr is a player you win with but not because of. He is an NFL quarterback but not an elite one.

Granted, as one post earlier was about the hopeless Cleveland Browns, yet the aging Saints roster and the stubbornness of Mickey Loomis is, for many, just putting up a wall of not winning and having the fans base lose hope. There are always worse examples of franchises that are bad i.e. Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Cardinals. So, are our Saints in the mix of every year hope of the Steelers, Ravens, Packers, Eagles or they basement of meh with the Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Cardinals?
The Eagles have had a few 4/5 win seasons.
The Ravens had that 15-17 slump.
It’s the NFL. Not college. You’re gonna have a season or two like this.
GB and Pittsburgh are the exceptions.
