I realize this is months old, but I just can’t let it go.
In Feb 2007 I had to go to Hickam AFB for an aircraft rescue. While there I was able to go to the USS Arizona memorial. There were a lot of people going and about half were Japanese.
Inside the memorial there are signs in Japanese and English explaining the significance and telling people to be respectful. One Japanese man got a cell phone call and just started loudly talking to whoever was calling. Leaning against the wall while doing so.
It’s not always white people.
