It’s amazing when you remove hospital profits, exhorbitant physician salaries, provide at-cost medications, and have no malpractice insurance, etc. When all that excess cost is removed from the public health system, the government can provide these free health care services at a reasonable tax cost.
You can elect to purchase private medical insurance if you want, although the level of care is not significantly better than the public system. Like I said, I’m a convert!
