rhetorically I think the people chanting "USA USA" are not the world travelers you describe - maybe the go on a cruise which ventures into international waters, but...
On the other hand, if you mean "world travellers", then yeah sure that is a lot more specific than just saying most Americans have traveled to some countries and that's it. BigDaddy just whole sale said these types never been anywhere and that falls part as a ethical/moral absolute argument. And again, Guido, humans have an remarkable ability to compartmentalize what they see, hear, meet and interact with in these experiences they have while traveling to other countries. We would like to believe that they would broaden and widen their perspectives as global, interconnected citizens but sometimes they just travel because they like to and the packages are relatively cheap and inexpensive and a few selectively pick and choose what they decide to absorb.

Being a " world traveler" isn't the same thing as some or most Americans visiting 4-5, or maybe 8-9 countries and some wanting to label it as they haven't been anywhere.
