Anyone else question why did Carr leap?
You would have to have played a high adrenaline sport in order to understand why he did it. It is all in the heat of battle and the desire to win and do anything to make that happen. Sometimes you have (as Pink Floyd would say) a momentary lapse of reason and you just do something without thinking and you go on instinct.
I played soccer for 30 years and for the most part I never got into the middle of unnecessary head on confrontations playing defense but one time there was a guy that was smoking us badly and I didn't think, and he was driving for the winning goal, so I went head on and paid for it as he knocked me on my butt and kicked me in the shin so hard I got sick to my stomach.
Well, I ended up with a hematoma on my leg the size of a softball and that was the last game I played because I had a family to support. It was all in the heat of the moment and the desire to compete and win. This was weekend warrior stuff although in an organized league still I wasn't getting paid and I still put myself in a situation that led to a bad injury.
I don't fault Carr for doing it but now he knows and that was his one-time pass, from now on he should NEVER attempt that again, unless it is to win a Super Bowl don't even attempt to leave your feet.
