Anyone else question why did Carr leap?

And you know what? They didn't get a first down and ended up having to punt. In a tight game when you're trying to keep the ball away from the offense, you're gonna try to get a first down any way you can.

And I've seen lots of QBs and RBs try to make the most of a given play. What Carr did isn't all that unusual. If he gains another yard, he'd get applauded, well, unless you don't like Carr.

Just about any other player and we'd be applauding a valiant effort.
Is it not possible to be appreciative of the effort and applaud it, while also pointing out it was a terrible decision?

Wouldn’t the chance of getting that 1st down have been higher w/ Carr on the field instead of Haener?
