Anyone else question why did Carr leap?

After a few views of that odd leap from Dereck Carr on the play where he hurt/broke? his hand and face planted into a semi concussion.......I began to see just how unnecessary and frankly, unaware that sequence of events was. IF, mighty big IF here; DC had put his shoulder down, followed the block of whoever was there and rammed ahead for yardage? He not only gets the first but acts like a real footballer and uses his momentum and a blocker for the yardage~!

If he "thought" he was going Full Taysom on that play? Well, that's a FAIL~! Taysom would have bulled his way and NOT gone airborne where few things good come of those plays~! Heck, We've seen Reggie go airborne but only when he was hurdling a would be tackler or leaping into the End Zone but even then on rare occasions.

I hope Carr reviews this play and bows up enough to KNOW he could have made a football move to use his pads and helmet to protect a solid hit to move forward~! That leaping stuff just isn't something someone as non-athletic as Carr should have tried and now? He's really screwed us going forward without him, YET? Who knows? Just maybe Heaner (sp?) or even Rattler can pull themselves together enough to become a Purdy or Williams of Stroud or Burrows or one of those great QBs who start right away and make the TEAM better??? Let's WIN OUT to make the whole scenario more interesting~!
Best to Derek Carr's recovery and I haven't even heard of DiNuccio or whoever........He just may be the answer , but I surely doubt that~!
He slam dunked himself on that play
