Haener starts vs Commanders: 1 INT, 5 punts ; Rattler replaced Haener in 2H: led to 19 points

Some people want to blame the OL but he fumbled twice on the same play in embarrassing fashion, threw terrible INTs and just made bad decisions countless times. Yes the OL was bad and gave him some pressure, but even with a clean pocket he still made terrible decisions.
He needs more time in this league, but the first impression wasn't good.

Unfortunately, there's more. Sometimes he did have a pocket to throw in and made throws. Sometimes good, sometimes awful. And sometimes the decision on who to throw to was bad. Sometimes he had a WR to throw to and he hesitated, and coverage sank down on the receiver and he was no longer a good option to throw to (missing the read entirely).

DA didn't do that guy any favors with the conditions of starters, but it was very, very clear that SR isn't close to ready yet. It wasn't much better than Ian Book. A couple of years has the potential to settle him down and make improvements because unlike Book, SR does have some traits that he can use to move the ball. He may be better off doing what Kyle Murray used to do. 1 read and run if the pass isn't there. Over a few years he should be able to add it to two reads as he grows.
