I was 100% serious about it until the anti-vax thing proved real (which was a fear of mine in the initial post if I recall).
My Mom died of the flu. I had a coworker die of covid and nearly lost two friends from it. I take it seriously. I get the flu shot and covid booster every year.
After I realized that the majority can't even take something like that seriously while family, friends, and neighbors were suffering made me realize that we, as a whole, don't deserve to continue existing.
I'm leaning on rooting for avian flu. We can't do the basics to protect each other. It's too much to even wear a mask.
