I think I’ve seen and can remember most Saints QBs in their history. At least going back to the mid-seventies.
I can’t recall a QB who looked as bad as Haener. It wasn’t just the lack of pocket awareness it was the sense of the game being way faster than he could possibly process. That and a palpable nervousness that could be felt just watching him.
Ian Book? Danny Weurfel? John Fourcade when he came back to earth? It’s impossible to overstate to how poorly he played and the fact that Rizzi pulled him at the half - knowing full well the confidence shattering implications of that - speaks to someone who had no business being on a football field.
Great guy. Took some hilarious promotional photos. But not an NFL QB.
