He came here with Payton in 06 and was a position coach for 5 years which led to him being DC for the Broncos for a year then HC for the Raiders. Then he comes back here to be DC for 7 years under Payton before HC. He's as Payton tree as they come. He's more Payton tree than Campbell who was a position coach in Miami for 6 years, then interim head coach there before coming here.
