Best Case Draft Scenario (Realistic)

We need to look long and hard at Deone Walker from Kentucky. That guy (very nearly) single handedly carried the Kentucky defense by how dominate he was on the Dline. He was backed up by a middle Linebacker named Jamon Dumas-Johnson who reminds me of Democo Ryans. In truth, if it were 2005, Jamon Dumas-Johnson would be looked at in Day 2 of the draft. But the NFL has changed and Linebackers that can't really cover the pass well drop big. But the entire defensive success started with Deone Walker dominating the trenches. Put on the Georgia vs Kentucky game and you'll see exactly how dominate he is. Keep in mind, Ratledge and Fairchild (both of Georgia's guards) are slated for day 1 and 2 picks. Same with their Center Wilson. And Walker man-handled em.

Another unknown is Yahya Black. The DT from Iowa. Iowa is a lesser watched college, but their defense is always sturdy. Again, it starts with their NT. Iowa has produced some quality defensive players in the NFL, and their coaches who have been there for something like 2 decades say Black has the most violent hands they've ever seen.

I don't think Black is a better option then Walker. In fact it will be night and day because Walker can rush the passer well, but is pretty good against the run. I would think of Black as a Day 3 fall back option if the draft doesn't work out in a way where you can get Walker.

A couple more really good options would be TJ Sanders South Carolina and Norman-Lott from Tennessee.

This draft seems super deep in NT talent compared to any other NFL draft that I can remember.
