I'm not saying I wouldn't hire Brady, but I'd prefer Johnson or Coen over him. And I might even prefer Burnell and Kingsbury over him. But, I'd probably take a shot on Brady over keeping Rizzi.
Part of it is that I don't know Brady or what his plan would be to rebuild the team. But it's also that he seems to be a guy that can take you up a notch but it's not clear that he can build the base. He was essentially running someone else's offense at LSU and with the Bills so it's hard to know if he can design his own offense and the one time he tried, Carolina, he failed. But, it does appear that he is a good play caller which not a lot of guys are. Seems like a guy that is going to be very boom or bust, but I'd rather that than someone who is more likely to just be average since it's a lot easier to know when to move on if they just bust.
One thing I recall about Brady is an article from the 2019 LSU season where they talked about how Brady didn't like the college environment because fans were too over the top and would come up to him and want to talk to him in restaurants and public places. That kind of makes me wonder if he has the personality to be an NFL head coach. You can blend in to some extent and an OC or QB coach, but the head coach, especially in a city like New Orleans, is going to be the face of the franchise and the center of attention for the entire city. I'm not sure if Brady would be comfortable with that.
