RB Ashton Jeanty as the Saints 1st pick?

Exactly. I find it amusing that for as downtrodden as our team has been, as difficult scoring has been for us, and how downright BORING our team has been, that there is a contingent of fans turning their noses up at a guy that led the nation in yards with a healthy 800-yard lead, led it in touchdowns, and was sitting at the Heisman ceremony a week ago.
This precise argument could've been made regarding Ron Dayne in 2000. Leading the NCAA in yards and winning the Heisman (which Dayne did) does not mean a player should be a slam dunk top 10 pick, even in a vacuum. Let alone when you're a franchise (1) whose season fell apart when your already questionable starting O-Line started piling up injuries, (2) whose starting D-Line doesn't consistently stop the run or get to the QB, and (3) who just extended Alvin Kamara and have Kendre Miller who is starting to emerge. Unless we're truly talking about a "generational talent," and I don't believe Jeanty fits that description, I would be disappointed if the Saints took a RB in the top 10 in any year, but especially this one.
