You don't tamper with a QB, lose drafts picks because of it, sign him to a huge deal and then draft his replacement. No matter how you slice it, they were wrong. If you draft your heir apparent, then you shouldn't have signed the other guy to a huge deal because you should want your heir to start before the contract is up with the other guy. Oh, and let's not forget they signed Kirk AFTER he tore his achilles.

Lol, you are speaking in hindsight. It wasn’t a “given” that Penix would be there for their pick at #9. They covered their bases by signing a QB before hand. They have the flexibility to cut ties with Kirk, if they got to draft their QB. How hard is that for you to comprehend? Just bc your distaste for the rival, doesn’t allow you to see that, then that’s on you. Oh btw, we took a chance on a guy who was told that he would probably never play again, with a sizable contract, and he became our GOAT. Sometimes you have to take risks. You don’t win in this league by not taking risks.
