Falcons expected to cut Kirk Cousins in offseason

The Falcons made a weird situation by signing Cousins and then drafting Penix, I don’t think it’s arguable that it was a curious move. The Panthers drafted Young, who has struggled. The Saints signed Carr—which, to me made sense at t time. The Bucs lucked out in my view with Mayfield.

The problem for the Saints IMHO is the dearth of quality QBs in several years of drafts. So, the alternative to Carr is elusive. That’s why I think the Saints should accumulate the pieces around the QB and wait hopefully for their next QB in the draft or free agency. That to me makes more sense than grabbing a mid or late round draftee QB who likely would turn out to be the next Sean Canfield or Ian Book.
