Yeah, our Super Bowl winning ex-coach is crushing it over in Denver. Go figure? I don't know the circumstances of why he left but that dude was the sole reason this franchise didn't suck for 15'ish years.
I think Payton was clearly burned out. I doubt he ever fully decompressed from the 2018 “no-call” that legit cost him another Super Bowl visit. I also think he’d gotten way too comfortable here and comfort is hard for competitive people.
