With all that we've faced this year, and how much we've been told this roster is void of talent - according to EPA we're the best of the middle of the pack teams. Currently we'd pick ahead of the Dolphiins and Seahawks, and are couple of losses away from potentially swapping w/ the Jets and getting inside the top 8.
In the games Rizzi's coached he's avoided snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, while winning the type of game Allen couldn't - boasting a 2-1 record in exhibitions decided by 3 or less. Could have been 3-1 w/ a better 1st half offensive performance vs Washington and perhaps a better playcall on the 2pt conversion attempt. That tells me Rizzi is extracting the most out of this team w/ a staff and philosophy that he didn't build. Rizzi embraces aggressivenes and taking chances, while both our defensive and offensive schemes are built around Allen's conservative philosophy.
Giving Rizzi the opportunity to recruit his own staff, potential access to premium draft talent, a weak division, and an unlikely repeat of the injury bug and you're looking at a competitive team in 25.
