Forgive me for saying this, but the Falcons 2024 Quarterback move is GENIUS!

You touched on something that is very important. You referenced Penix as teachable, which is 100% correct. What 99% of this board doesn’t know, is that Kirk is the type of QB, that is the type of QB that you WANT to mentor your young QB. I read something awhile back, about the Shanahan coaching tree that is currently in the NFL today. All of those coaches specifically say Kirk Cousins’ name, when they talk about the almost perfect QB. It’s not bc they feel like his talents are vastly superior to anyone else’s obviously. They all said that Kirk (specifically) does exactly what they ask him to do at all times. He executes their vision and commands, better than any other QB they have worked with.
So, while many think sinking $100 million was a bad investment, the Falcons paid handsomely to guarantee themselves that they were getting the perfect QB to mentor a potential 1st rd draft pick. If they didn’t draft a player in the 1st, then they still had a viable veteran QB. And that is what no one seems to understand. To them it wasn’t a waste of money, it was just a very rich investment for their future, and/or future investment on the young QB.
If literally could be a brilliant strategy for them, if they somehow become the top of the NFC South in the immediate future
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! :9:
