It will take time to develop Rattler, Haener or possible first round quarterback.

The problem is neither Heaner nor Rattler have shown they are worth the resources it would require to even try and turn them into a QB1. They’re ceilling is backup QB. We gotta draft one or search other teams QB2’s for starting talent that isn’t obvious due to a scheme mismatch or superior talent at QB1. No one comes to mind except maybe Jake Browning for the Bengals. And no one in this draft looks appealing. Jaxson Dart has some intriguing capabilities but he had a bad college year which will cause a lot pause. He really struggled against good defenses as did Carson Beck. Ward and Sanders look like eye candy that will fade away like Deshaun Watson but likely and hopefully without the legal issues.

I don’t think we have a shot at a franchise QB till 2026 draft/free agency.
I think a lot of first rounder qbs don't show much the first year. Players drafted in the first round, expectations are high but there are some pieces in there that help them to be successful as soon as possible. Heaner and Rattler have NONE. Way too early to tell and if next year draft doesn't have a quarterback worth drafting in the first, continue to see what you got with Rattler and/or Haener.
