And that cap philosophy will only extend our crappiness another year. We're at a point were if we want to ever be good again, we gotta fix our cap.
At this point, I question our ability to even sign a good coaching candidate because of the cap mismanagement. We've been a sinking ship since the moment DA was named HC, and as of this moment, the only hope we had was that the owner stepped in to fire Dennis Allen. Considering the cap issues, our inability to sign good talent in free agency, its really, really hard to imagine that Ben Johnson would even consider coming here. Or Joe Brady.
In fact, any coach that isn't desperate for a head coaching job will likely pass on us. Maybe even Aaron Glenn. I would if I were him. Whoever comes here, I don't understand how they wouldn't be able to see that they're not being put in a position to succeed.
And a failed gig as a head coach could easily be a career killer and ruin chances of ever being a head coach again.
