Las Vegas Raiders at New Orleans Saints......

I'm honestly looking forward to this game more than just about any other over the past couple months. I feel like this is going to be a great litmus test for Spencer Rattler (assuming Carr is out again). This would be Rattler's first game where he isn't going against a team that is undoubtedly better than us. It's also at home, and he should have a decent OL in front of him (at least among our top players), and there's a chance that guys like Olave, MVS, and maybe even Kamara play in this game.

I want to see how Rattler does in a "neutral" game script where we don't immediately fall behind and have to put the game on his shoulders with mediocre at best weapons and sketchy OL play in front of him. If he plays well then obviously we may want to continue to give him a closer look to see if there's something to develop. If he struggles and plays poorly, then he's likely seen as a depth guy that maybe can develop down the road, but not a priority at this time at the QB position.

I legitimately am struggling to think of a rookie QB that has played under worse/more difficult circumstances than Rattler has in his games this season. Even a guy like Bryce Young as a rookie had a better set up than Rattler has this season. It's kind of funny that Bryce was viewed as a huge bust up until the past month or two. Now he's showing some signs of being a legit QB for the Panthers. In some ways it really does hammer home that QB development isn't always a linear path and can take some time especially when circumstances around the QB aren't exactly set up for success.
