Time to end this circus: Saints have wasted 3 years of our time (merged)

I agree that a turn around in 3 seasons is certainly possible; look what Payton did after Haslett.

But there are three hurdles to clear - one is getting the right coach, the second is the finding the franchise QB (Brees literally fell into Payton's lap) and the third is an almost total revamp of an ageing roster while resetting the cap. The common denominator to all of these things? Having the right FOOTBALL GM in place to handle these monumental tasks. Loomis - who smacked his gum, told the fans that DA was a hall of fame coach in the making and who begrudgingly fired DA is clearly not the GM to lead the Saints into a new chapter of success.

We should thank Loomis for his service (minus the DA era), the Superbowl title he, Payton and Brees brought to New Orleans - but it is clearly time for him to move out (or up, into a Team President/advisory role) and let a real football GM manager take the reigns. If ownership does not make this happen then there will be no improvement anytime soon, and the Saints can take their place in the bottom 25% of NFL teams that are perpetually bad and irrelevant.(Jet,s Browns, Titans, etc.) In other words, a product not worth wasting your time and money on.

Hopefully Ms. Benson (and her inner circle of advisors) can see what clearly needs to happen to get the team headed in the right direction.
